Today's installment of our blog brings us to artisan style engagement rings- this generally is a term used to mean a ring that appeals to brides in search of something that bears the marks of a artisan goldsmith handcrafting at the work bench. The opposit of a machine made technology, often times these types of rings celebrate the unique qualities of each individual diamond. They often times have a bespoke quality that is 100% it's own. Our personal favorite example of this type of work is Todd Reed- As seen below. We have been proud to carry an assortment of his work for many years. The peices use recycled and raw diamonds, as well as all recycled metals.
This also brings up the idea of diamonds in their rough and natural form as well as the ever popular salt and pepper style diamond. Diamonds in their more rough organic form are a great alternative to a bright sparkler. Some feel they are more understated, but still evoke the same sentiment that comes with a diamond from the centuries of tradition behind them. The are a great option for both men and women who are looking to express their individulality. An added bonus is how unique they look in a traditional setting- solitaire, or halo like we discussed in our last post. It gives a great fresh and completely one of a kind spin on the look. The also come in many colors and levels of inclusion which means that literally no two stones are alike.
